Sources and methods
Every figure, where it comes from and how it is made
Cyprus Holidays shows only figures that come from open data or from a calculation described on this page. Each value on a chart or in a table can be tapped to show its source note.
Measures
- Air temperature, daily maximum
- Mean of the daily maximum air temperature at 2 m for the grid cell (about 9 km) that contains the place. Source: Copernicus ERA5-Land, 2006 to 2025.
- Air temperature, daily minimum
- Mean of the daily minimum air temperature at 2 m for the grid cell (about 9 km) that contains the place. Source: Copernicus ERA5-Land, 2006 to 2025.
- Sea surface temperature
- Mean daily sea surface temperature at the nearest sea point off the place. Source: Copernicus Marine, Mediterranean satellite analysis, 2006 to 2025.
- Sunshine, hours per day
- Hours with direct sunlight of at least 120 W/m², the World Meteorological Organization definition, averaged per day. Source: Copernicus ERA5 (derived), 2006 to 2025.
- Rain days per month
- Average number of days in the month with at least 1 mm of precipitation. Source: Copernicus ERA5-Land, 2006 to 2025.

Things to keep in mind
- Climate figures are long term averages, not forecasts. A given week can be warmer, cooler or wetter.
- ERA5-Land describes grid cells of about 9 km. Places close to each other can share a cell and therefore the same values.
- Sunshine hours are derived from radiation data and are marked as derived.
- OpenStreetMap is edited by volunteers. When a facility is not recorded there, we say "not recorded", not "no".
